All the World's a Stage - Workshop

Key Stage 1

35 students per session

60 minutes

60 minutes per class

School Hall

Or large space!

All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players...

Our practitioners will transport your young learners back in time to the middle of the 16th century, where they will learn all about how the Elizabethans lived their lives and the common sights and customs that a young William Shakespeare may have found as he grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon and London.

By the end of the session, your students will...
  • Explore different jobs found in Elizabethan society.

  • Explore the conditions that Elizabethan men and women lived in; including how the plague spread so quickly.

  • Learn who William Shakespeare is and explore his own childhood.

  • Introduce the idea of Comedy, History and Tragedy.

"They made Shakespeare far less intimidating and made our studio into a place of pure joy. For those that have never done Shakespeare and even for those that had, they all said after they had learnt so much”

Amy Riley, Icon Theatre
